Direct Line’s new campaign gets you to prove if your best friend is truly the ‘backup you need’.Feel like putting your friendship to the test and not afraid of a little water? Then take part in the ultimate friendship quiz, which could either see you and your mate jetting off on holiday or being dunked into the Thames from 20 feet in the air. HOW IT WORKS?Located at the Millwall Docklands, in London and open from 14:00 – 19:00 for the public, participants will be asked questions designed to put their friendship to the test. The questions, asked by one friend (on the shore) and answered by the other person (dangling from a winch), will determine how high or low they go. The participating pair with the most correct answers will win the prize of a TUI gift card worth £5,000. In the event of a tie between two or more of the participating pairs, (e.g where two or more pairs each get four questions right and no one gets all five) those pairs of participants will be entered into a prize draw (one entry per successful pair) for a chance to win the prize. No purchase necessary. Successful participants will be asked if they’d like to be dunked into The River Thames after successfully answering all five questions or lowered back down into the boat to travel back to shore. Participants who get any of the five questions incorrect will be asked if they agree to be dunked into the River Thames prior to them being hoisted onto the machine or lowered back down. As there will be a professional lifeguard on hand to whisk them from the Thames, armed with all the safety equipment needed!HOW CAN I JOIN? This is a FREE event.DATE 30th August 2022EVENT TIMING14:00 - 19:00 LOCATIONDocklands Sailing and Water sports Centre, 235A Westferry Rd, London E14 3QSdirectline@talkertailor.comThis activation will be fully equipped with all relevant health and safety measures, including but not limited to a lifeguard on-site and a boat to transport all participants.T&amp;Cs(1a.) The ‘Backup You Need’ event is open to pairs of two people who have successfully secured a pair of two free tickets through Eventbrite site with an allotted time slot to attend. The event will be held at the Millwall Docklands for the public from 14:00 - 19:00 on Tuesday 30th August.There are 18 pairs of tickets in total available, on a first-come-first-served basis through the platform. This is not open to employees of Direct Line Group, their families or anyone associated with this prize draw or campaign. All participants, must be over 18 and UK residents. (b.) One member of each of the 18 participating pairs will be placed in the dunking machine above the River Thames and asked a set of five questions about the other member of their pair. The participating pair with the most correct answers will win the prize of a TUI gift card worth £5,000. In the event of a tie between two or more of the participating pairs, (e.g where two or more pairs each get four questions right and no one gets all five) those pairs of participants will be entered into a prize draw (one entry per successful pair) for a chance to win the prize. No purchase necessary. All required safety elements will be set in place throughout the event, including two kayaks and a motorised safety boat. Two lifeguards and a medic will also be on-site. Successful participants will be asked if they’d like to be dunked into The River Thames after successfully answering all five questions or lowered back down into the boat to travel back to shore. Participants who get any of the five questions incorrect will be asked if they agree to be dunked into the River Thames prior to them being hoisted onto the machine or lowered back down into the boat to travel back to shore. (c.) A form will be available to fill in on the day of the event to obtain contact details for all participants. By participating in this event, you consent to the Promoter’s and its agents’ use of your personal data for the purposes of administering this prize draw and awarding the winning pairs’ prize. The Promoter reserves the right to publish the name and county of residence of the winners. The winners may be required to participate in the Promoter’s marketing and promotional activities and by entering the Promotion consents to such participation. Entries not submitted in accordance with these rules, delayed, damaged, incomplete, altered, or illegible will be disqualified. No responsibility is accepted for entries lost or delayed. (2a.) Where there is not one clear winning pair with one highest overall score, the participating pairs with the highest scores will be entered into the prize draw. One winning pair will be drawn from all successful entrants at random two working days after the event date (1st September).(b.) The TUI gift card prize will be for TUI.com and will be valid until 30th August 2023. The TUI gift card can be used as full or part payment for travel products at all TUI travel shops (excluding Southern Ireland), tui.co.uk and firstchoice.co.uk. For website transactions, the TUI gift card must have sufficient funds to cover the initial payment due when booking your holiday. The winning pair will be informed via email within two working days (1st September) from the 30th August and a conversation will follow with the winning pair to discuss if the winning pair want to opt to have the total value of the TUI gift card split into two separate TUI gift cards, with one gift card sent to one half of the winning pair worth £2,500 and the other TUI gift card sent to the other half of the pair, worth £2,500, or they can have one TUI gift card depending on their joint choice. The winning pair will be sent the TUI gift card, via post, personally addressed to the member of the winning pair who signed up to the event via the Eventbrite site, to arrive at the UK address provided. The TUI gift card will arrive in two-three working days from the date agreed with the winning pair (depending on the postage within the area) . (d.) The winning pair agree to take part in publicity in connection with this prize draw. With the prior consent of the promoter, the agency will be using imagery and video content of participants that can be used for paid or editorial media across print, online, social and broadcast. By participating in the event, all participants will be giving the agency and the promoter the rights to film and capture content; this includes image, sound, name, and likeness.(e.) The promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the promotion without prior notice. (f.) Events may occur that render the awarding of the prize or the running of the event impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly, the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion, and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.(h.) The prize does not include travel between the winner’s home and airport, personal expenditure, or incidental costs, other than where mentioned. The prize does not include petrol or parking. It is the responsibility of the winning couple/pair to ensure that they have a valid passport, and health and travel insurance and obtain any necessary vaccinations and visas for their trip. The promoter is not responsible for any cancellations or charges associated with the use of the TUI gift card . (i.) Covid 19 – Should the prize be disrupted by Covid-19, travel company liability sits with TUI, and winners will be bound by their terms and conditions in this instance. This will not be discussed, nor dealt with by the promoter. (j.) Neither the promoter nor the agency (Talker Tailor Trouble Maker) will be liable for any cancellations or changes to the prize draw or the prizes, or any loss or damage. Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit the liability of the promoter or the agency in relation to personal injury or death caused by the promoter’s negligence or fraud. (k.) These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising.
