    Matthew Miles is a Partner in our Corporate Team. He qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 and has more than 20 years’ experience of advising on a wide range of commercial issues. He is responsible for looking after the wider commercial interests of a range of businesses across the South-East through the drafting and negotiation of all types of commercial contracts. He has particular experience of structuring and negotiating investment and joint venture arrangements (including redevelopment schemes) for clients, along with prior experience of advising in respect of employment matters.


    Nigel Cushion is an experienced director and business leader. He operates mainly as a mentor, speaker, investor and board adviser. After initially training with KPMG, Nigel has spent two decades on boards and has held nine NED roles, across a wide variety of industries, including six as chair. He is the former runner up in the national Non-Executive Director of the Year awards (Unquoted Companies), run by the Sunday Times/Stock Exchange. He has spoken all over the world on leadership and governance including for the Institute of Directors and at The University of Oxford.


    Charlotte Sloan is a Legal Director in the Employment Team at Birketts. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 and has been working in the Southern offices of a large national law firm for the past 10 years. Charlotte predominately advises employer clients on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment law and acts for businesses and organisations across the South. Charlotte has a particular specialism in supporting clients in the education sector including colleges and independent schools and has a strong understanding of the nuances of employment law specific to the sector and issues that commonly arise.
