A﻿bout the Manchester Disability Collaborative (MDC)Manchester Disability Collaborative (MDC) is an active partnership of disabled peoples&#x27; organizations (DPOs) and other organizations based in Manchester. We have a vision to remove barriers and promote the values of equality and inclusion for disabled people. By achieving our goal of amplifying the voices of disabled people, we plan to be an example to other cities.Objectives: <ul><li>Raise awareness about MDC and its impactful initiatives </li><li>Engage the community through presentations, discussions, and interactive sessions </li><li>Foster feedback and collaboration for continued progress </li><li>Connect with diverse groups and promote educational outreach </li></ul>Event Highlights: <ul><li>Seminar Session: Gain insights into MDC&#x27;s mission and activities </li><li>Disabled People&#x27;s Archive: A display showcasing the history of the disabled people’s movement by the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP).</li><li>Panel Session: Engage with Disabled People&#x27;s Organisations (DPOs) and City Council for an interactive Q&amp;A </li><li>Break: Enjoy buffet-style refreshments and explore DPO stalls </li><li>Interactive Sessions: Join smaller groups for in-depth discussions and feedback </li><li>Networking Opportunities: Connect, exchange ideas, and build relationships </li></ul>Representatives and Stalls: <ul><li>Engage with the MDC Engagement Group DPOs </li><li>Explore stalls highlighting initiatives and services </li></ul>Accessibility &amp; Inclusivity: <ul><li>BSL interpreters and audio loop for hearing aid users </li><li>Live captioning and transcription services </li><li>Braille and accessible formats for printed material </li><li>Thoughtfully arranged seating for accessibility </li></ul>Food &amp; Beverages: <ul><li>Catering with diverse options to accommodate dietary needs </li><li>Clearly labeled food items with allergy considerations </li></ul>Hybrid Format: <ul><li>Attend in-person or virtually via seminar session link </li><li>Virtual attendees can create their own interactive group </li></ul>Feedback &amp; Networking: <ul><li>Share your thoughts through feedback forms and suggestion boxes </li><li>Networking session for informal interactions and idea exchange </li></ul>
