Discovering trees in winter
Overview
Step into the quiet beauty of the East Chevington woodland and join botonist Richard Poppleton for an immersive walk-and-talk experience learning about trees. Spending some time indoors, discover how to identify a variety of twig species and trace them back to their parent trees using clues like bark texture, bud shape, colour, and branching patterns. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your observational skills and deepen your connection with the forest.
Please wear warm, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for woodland terrain.
Meeting point: Druridge Bay Country Car park (what3words ///skies.wound.bonus). Please note there is a charge for the carpark at Druridge Bay Country Park.
No dogs. Ages 16+.
This event is run in collaboration with the Natural History Society of Northumbria.
