The Centre for Contemporary Latin American Studies in collaboration with the Global Development Academy have organised this event and workshop with the purpose to initiate and develop a conversation across a variety of approaches to ‘displacement’ and consider the specific situation in different contexts. The overall aim is to engage academics and other key stakeholders (state and community) in future research collaboration. Therefore, the schedule for the day is based on three presentations followed by a wider discussion in the morning, as well as a series of parallel, 'theme-specific’, workshops in the afternoon. We aim to use this event to set common agendas for research in this field, based on the participants’ experience and aspirations.

Speakers will include Yuka Terada (UN Habitat), Carlos Velasquez (Community Leader, Comuna 8 Medellín), Dr Leonie Ansems de Vries (Lecturer in International Relations. King's College London), and Evie Papada (Department of Geography, Loughborough University).
