DIVA MANC

There is a lot of talk at the moment about the need to 'do things differently',  to work more collaboratively,  to empower people and communities, to redesign our public services, to put social responsibility at the heart of business, and for decision-makers to work with citizens to co-produce new solutions.    Whilst some people talk, there are women across Greater Manchester who are already doing it! 
If you are keen to see good ideas 'in action', and to learn from what is already working, come along to this event and listen to Divas of Greater Manchester, tell us about the differences they are making in our communities, public services, town halls and businesses.
20 women from across Greater Manchester will take to the platform to share what they are doing and ways to build on what is working for the benefit of people, place and public purse.

Event details
The event will start at 1pm sharp so please arrive at the venue for 12.45.  Reception will direct you to the right place. Talks will last no more than four minutes each.  The talks will finish at 3pm but there will be an opportunity for anyone who can to stay around and have a chat at the end.
The venue has wheelchair access.  If you have any other specific needs please let us know how best to support you to enable you to fully participate.  We are looking to try and organise a creche for the event, if you will require childcare please let us know asap.

What is the background to DivaManc?

Women have been fundamental in building and shaping the Greater Manchester we love and care for.  We are instrumental in it's future.
Yet the DevoManc agenda to date has been dominated by the stale pale male images and voices, and it can be hard to see where the opportunities, wishes, fears and contributions of women that live, work, care or study and girls are reflected.
Sometimes we have to make a fuss to be heard. DivaManc seeks to bring women together to shape the future of devolution in Greater Manchester, for the benefit of all.  Together we can be the change we want to see across this great city region, put the DIVA into DevoManc and lead the way for a more Diverse, Inclusive, Vibrant and Accountable devolution.
