About Andy Gracie:
London-born, and now based in Spain, Andy Gracie is a digital artist who is fascinated by space, scientific experiments and ecosystems. Using data from NASA’s deep space probes, his large installations replicate the conditions for life on other planets using tiny organisms that are currently used in space research.
His live experiment Deep Data Prototype_3 will be on display at Milton Keynes Central Library from March to June 2017. The installation will ask us to consider whether we will ever discover life on other planets and whether these planets might ever be colonised by humans. Originally commissioned by the Trondheim biennale for art & technology, Meta.Morf 2016, this is the UK premiere of the work.
Andy will be the Digitalis Artist in Residence in Milton Keynes Central Library throughout Spring and Summer 2017, creating a newly commissioned piece for the Library to be launched in August.
An exhibition of the new work produced during his residency will take place throughout August and September 2017.
