About the Digital Manufacturing Accelerator
The Manufacturing Technology Centre is launching a brand new initiative, in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, that brings world leading manufacturing research, technology and experts together. Embarking on a ten year mission, the £15 million funded project aims to bring together the best innovations of both physical and digital manufacturing technologies.
Based in the heart of Liverpool, the project aims to take build a state-of-the-art rapidly configurable factory that will support local manufacturing businesses and provide job opportunities for expert technology engineers and apprenticeships.
The brand new facility will utilise cutting-edge equipment and software that can support organisations with research and development requirements on their current systems, facility and technology. During the first phase of the project, estimated to take three years, end-users and supply chains are invited to be a part of the project and provide suitable use cases and requirement suggestions with the opportunity to shape the project or become a future solution provider.

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is inspiring Great British manufacturing globally by developing innovative manufacturing technologies and processes in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions.
Founded in 2010, the MTC has some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the world enabling it to provide a specialised environment for the development and demonstration of innovation to be used on an industrial scale.
A leading proponent of Digitalising Manufacturing and home to the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, the MTC has expertise across a range of technologies. The MTC works collaboratively with companies of all sizes from start-ups to global corporations in diverse industry sectors including aerospace, marine, defence, construction and food and drink.
The MTC has more than 100 industrial members, who play an active role in the steering of the technological path of the organisation. The membership scheme promotes long term relationships, however, the MTC works with any company seeking a manufacturing solution.
