Level 3: Completing the DOMESTIC ABUSE STALKING AND HONOUR BASED ABUSE risk indicator checklist

This course looks specifically at completing the DASH risk indicator form and should be attended by professionals who work in the health and social care and Criminal Justice sector and education settings and professionals who work in a safeguarding role.

This training is for those who will be completing the DASH risk assessment, as a part of their job role and have responsibility for directly dealing with disclosures of domestic abuse and sexual violence and safe guarding.

Covered within this course is how to identify, assess and respond to risk using the DASH risk indicator checklist. Building from lessons learnt within previous training this day includes;

• Further developing an understanding on the experience of Coersive Control (CCB), identifying CCB and understanding CCB within the context of risk .

• Further developing an understanding of The Serious Crime Act, Section 76

• The typologies of Domestic Abuse and the dynamics of Domestic Abuse

• Stalking, harassment and Honour based abuse.

• Understanding what high risk Domestic Abuse indicators are and how to assess risk clusters. (How certain risk factors interact with one another)

• Completing the DASH risk indicator checklist - how to articulate and evidence risk associated with Domestic Abuse

• The MARAC process

• The importance of appropriate information sharing and understanding the experience of risk as a pattern, not isolated incidents.


Previous domestic abuse training or relevant professional experience before attending this session is recommended.

At the foundation of all our DASV training is an understanding and awareness of controlling and coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship.

Booking Conditions

This course is delivered across two mornings, the date you are booked for plus the following day. You need to be available to attend both sessions.

This training is funded only for individuals who work and/or reside in Cornwall & Isles of Scilly, United Kingdom. If you are booking with an address outside of Cornwall, please contact us via email in advance to ensure your booking is not cancelled. Out of county bookings will be cancelled without warning. If you would like this training for your team, we would be happy to discuss your requirements.

The course is delivered via Microsoft Teams. You will need to be able to access Teams via your work or personal device to complete this course. We cannot support you to access Teams, you will need to contact your organisation’s IT department.

Training will start promptly at the time specified, with a safety and caution briefing. Therefore, late attendees will not be admitted, and you will be marked as a non-attendee. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all attendees.

Participants are expected to have their camera on throughout the duration of the course. Visual cues play an important part in the facilitator being able to recognise how delegates are feeling and to monitor the wellbeing of the group. Keeping cameras on also encourages engagement and communication; This is an interactive course with activities throughout.

Laptop sharing between attendees within the same workplace is not permitted. Each person attending the training must be signed up individually and using their own device. We offer bespoke group training, please contact us if you feel this would best suit your organisation.

Swapping your place with a colleague on the day is not permitted. Only the attendee registered will be admitted to the training on the day.

Cancellations can be made through your Eventbrite account, or via 'Manage my booking' on the original booking confirmation. Non attendance and failure to cancel your booking will result in an email sent to your line manager with details of the missed session, and the commissioning team will be made aware of repeat non-attendance.
