Where can I park?

Accepted Answer

There is limited parking available at John Coles Park itself and will be used for the entertainers and security marshalls and emergency/first aiders etc
There is on street parking available but we strongly suggest that you are dropped off as you maybe very tired in the morning and not safe to drive

Question 2

Where is the drop off point?

Accepted Answer

The Drop off point will be Parkfields and Wedmore Avenue, there will be no access into Fleet Road for Drop off or over night parking.

Question 3

What do I need to bring?

Accepted Answer

You will need to be prepared for all weather conditions!
Make sure you have warm clothing with some waterproof outer layers.
Think about what you are going to sleep in and how you can keep dry. Cardboard and tarpaulin are great starting points.
Sleeping bag.
Torch.
Thermos mug/flask and maybe snacks

Is there a toilet?

Yes we have access to the toilets at John Coles Park throughout the event. It can get dark heading to the toilets so please bring a torch

Question 5

What if I want to leave early?

Accepted Answer

If the weather is really bad or you feel like you aren't able to make it through the whole night, we will support you in leaving safely. You will need to pack up all your stuff and make a night marshall aware of you leaving.

How do I raise sponsorship?

Accepted Answer

We ask that in taking part in our SleepOut you aim to raise at least £150 in sponsorship, but of course you can raise more than that. There is a Just Giving Page set up that you can link to and your sponsorship is donated straight to Doorway.

Question 7

Can I Sleep Out with my friends?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! The more the merrier - we have seen large groups of work colleagues joining the Sleep Out and have had a great time.

Question 8

Can I buy food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

Yes -the park kiosk will be open for us until 10:30pm , where you can buy hot/cold drinks and snacks, cash and card payments accepted.

Question 9

Are children able to join the SleepOut?

Accepted Answer

Yes, children aged 10+ are able to join the SleepOut, anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, with parental permission. If you have younger children maybe consider a SleepOut at home, contact Sarah for more information (facilities@doorwayproject.org.uk)

I have my ticket, what happens now?

Accepted Answer

Thank you for joining the SleepOut, you will be emailed a Sleepers Pack, which will have all the information about the SleepOut and fundraising and give you the link for the JustGiving campaign page. Start to talk with family and friends and asking about sponsorship, post on your social media
