About this event

Guided tours start promptly at 11am on the date of your booking and must be booked in advance, they run for about an hour. Our volunteer guides come in specially to lead these tours, so please let us know as soon as possible if you can no longer attend.

If you would like to visit our café, you are welcome to do so at the end of your tour.

Please note that this page is for booked guided tours ONLY. If you would prefer not to join a guided tour, we are open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for self-guided visits from 11am-5pm (last entry 4pm) which does not require booking.

FAQs


Can I go on a tour without booking?


We highly recommend booking in advance if you wish to attend a tour. We may be able to accommodate walk-ins if we are not fully booked, but we cannot guarantee that you will be allotted a space on tours without a booking.


How many people can I book for?


You can book for up to six people.


What if I am running late?


Please let us know as soon as possible if you are running late. Guided tours start promptly at 11, so please do try to be punctual, but you can join the tour already in progress if you are a few minutes late.


I have booked a timed slot and I’m now unable to visit. What shall I do?


If you, or anyone in your group is feeling unwell or has been in contact with someone with symptoms of Covid-19 please do not visit. You can cancel your booking by emailing dorichhousemuseum@kingston.ac.uk or by logging into your Eventbrite account.


What facilities will be open?


There are toilets available onsite. Our shop is open. Our café is open and serving a selection of cakes, tea, and coffee. We accept card and cash payments.


Is there somewhere to store my bike during a visit?


We have bike racks adjacent to the museum available for parking your bike while visiting.


Are you taking commercial and private bookings?

Please note that the museum is located over four floors. There are 78 steps to the top floor, which is accessed via a narrow staircase. The museum currently has no wheelchair accessible toilets. We apologise that we are unable to offer full access for all physical abilities at this time. Kingston University is working to improve access for all visitors.
