DOTI Fest 2019
Event Information
Description
We’re gathering to answer the question: How do we design a world where everyone can thrive? You’re invited.
DOTI Fest is a day-long event celebrating the real stories behind great design. Through informal talks and creative sessions, we’ll uncover how organisations design the products and services that we use every day.
We started Design On The Inside (DOTI) because we felt that only the 'hero' stories of design were being told. We were missing an honest conversation about the everyday challenges that governments, businesses, civics and charities face when designing a world where everyone can thrive.
Our vision is to create a world where people and communities thrive. We see this as a systems challenge. DOTI Fest brings voices from across systems to join up on some of our planet's biggest challenges, from critical health services to lifelong learning, daily shopping to designing a truly inclusive world.
DOTI Fest 2019 is a platform for honest, system-wide conversation and collaboration.
The highlights
DOTI Fest 2019 has a thought-provoking line-up covering everything from the designing for the climate crisis to 24 hours in housing.
We’re bringing keynotes, panel discussions, performances, workshops and fireside chats across 3 core areas:
- People - how to create services that are tailored to every individual, so they are able to live fulfilling lives in an empowering environment.
- Place - how to create sustainable and participatory places that harness technological change, resulting in more liveable places.
- Business - how to help organisations build business models that favour people over process, and enhance our communities and environment.
We can also promise:
- A festival feel throughout.
- Delicious vegan and vegetarian street food.
- Accessible and inclusive spaces.
- A sustainable and mindful approach to merchandise.
- An after party to continue the conversation.
Inclusion
It matters to us that anyone interested in DOTI Fest is able to attend and participate fully.
Oval Space is fully wheelchair accessible. We have a quiet space available for those who would like to take a break/time out during the day. On sign-up to the event, speakers and guests will be asked about accessibility requirements and we'll aim to meet all requests. We will also have dedicated team members from Snook available on the day should any of our attendees need extra support. We are providing an arts and crafts creche for those who may want to bring their children, which will be staffed all day.
Applications to the inclusion programme have now closed, and those randomly selected have been notified. The total number of tickets allocated is 31 - we are pleased and grateful for this.
If there is anything further we can do to support your attendance, please email Snook on doti@wearesnook.com.
