Dramatic Improbable Research Readings, with Marc Abrahams
Sun 24 July 2016, 13:30 – 14:30 BST
Marc Abrahams, founder of the Ig Nobel prizes, will be joined by special guests Brian Schmidt, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics, and Elisabeth Oberzaucher, winner of the 2015 Mathematics Ig Nobel Prize to dramatically read weird and wonderful prose from Ig Nobel Prize winning research papers – laughs guaranteed.
Marc is the founder and Master of Ceremonies of the Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony. The Ig Nobel Prizes honor achievements that make people LAUGH, and then THINK. The prizes are intended to celebrate the unusual, honor the imaginative — and spur people's interest in science, medicine, and technology.
The Washington Post called Marc "the nation's guru of academic grunge” and The Guardian said Marc's writing is "rationalism taken to intoxicating extremes".
