Draping Workshop

This workshop teaches the principles of draping and how to use it as a playful and experimental tool for generating fashion ideas. You will learn how to manipulate fabrics through twisting, folding, gathering, and layering to achieve stunning results.

In this workshop, you will drape on a dress form, manipulate the fabric, create darts, and learn how to mark the cloth, which will later be used to draft a pattern. This course is ideal for beginners, but the sessions can also be tailored for advanced learners, including techniques like draping a full skirt and creating asymmetric designs. Additionally, you will see how to transfer draped pieces to pattern paper.

Draping is an excellent way to unleash your creativity and generate innovative ideas. By mastering the basics of draping and experimenting with fabric (or muslin), you will find inspiration to develop new and original designs.
