Build your own loop to take home and contribute to a collaborative loop with other participants with sound artist and cassette tape looper Maryanne Royle.Get recording on your phone before the session to gather sounds to use in the collaborative soundscape! <a href="https://eborstudio.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6dd5c6ba1f8850ce24c58bc9a&amp;id=a4098b6b9c&amp;e=09b5ea6373" title="https://eborstudio.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6dd5c6ba1f8850ce24c58bc9a&amp;id=a4098b6b9c&amp;e=09b5ea6373" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">What is a tape loop?</a> In a tape loop, a section of magnetic tape is cut and spliced end-to-end, creating a circle or loop which can be played continuously making the sound repeat endlessly. Maryanne has been commissioned to create tape loops by Leeds Year of Culture 2023, has had her loop compositions played on various radio stations, and has performed nationally using tape loops.Maryanne Royle is a neurodivergent artist from Rochdale who explores the idea of the body as landscape through her work in sound, installation, performance and photography.Maryanne studied Ba Intermedia at Edinburgh College of Art before returning to the North West and becoming a part of artist communities in Rochdale and Central Manchester.
