Drawing Lockdown Symposium - Part 1

Drawing Projects UK was created in 2009 to develop and promote research initiatives in drawing, including the Jerwood Drawing Prize project, now known as the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. In 2015,a centre for drawing and contemporary art at Bridge House in Trowbridge, Wiltshire wasestablished and the remit of Drawing Projects UK expanded to form a drawing network and community through a range of complementary activities. With a project space, exhibition space, workspaces for artists, designers, creative and cultural enterprises, bookable meeting rooms and cafe, Drawing Projects UK is a unique creative and cultural hub, and is conveniently located adjacent to Trowbridge railway station.

Join us online for this PechaKucha-style Drawing Symposium - Drawing Lockdown (Part 1)

The online Drawing Symposium: Drawing Lockdown (Part 1) is convened by Drawing is Free and Drawing Projects UK in association with the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2021 exhibition, currently on show at Drawing Projects UK, where the exhibition and engagement programme is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. The PechaKucha-style Drawing Symposium on two parts will focus on Drawing Lockdown In Part 1 (this event) focuses on how drawing practitioners responded to experience of the global pandemic through drawing. From a terrific response to an open call, 15 PechaKucha-style presentations will reflect on how a variety of drawing practitioners responded to drawing in lockdown in Part 1 of our Drawing Lockdown symposium.The presentationse will be oragsnied into three sessions as follows:Session 1: Susie Hamilton, David Barron, Zara Saganic , Fay Stevens, Emma CarlisleSession 2: Katya Robin, Jo Lewis, Arianna Milesi, Jiaye Qiu &amp; Jingyu Cheng, Elke FinkenaurSession 3: Karen Conway, Ye Xu, Nick Grellier, Jane Hildreth, Gary CloughThe Drawing Symposium: Drawing Lockdown (Part 2) will focus on online drawing programs and how drawing together and teaching drawing online developed during lockdown and will be held on 5 March 2022. #TBWDP21 #DrawingProjectsUK #DrawingSymposium #DrawingLockdown #DrawingMatters
