Get to grips with a variety of drawing techniques with artist Sarah Jane Richards.

About this event

No matter what medium you enjoy using, be it paint, pastel or clay, learning the fundamental drawing techniques will further develop your natural drawing ability.

This 10-week art course is designed to develop observational and expressive drawing techniques and skills. This course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to explore aspects of their own practice.

Monday evenings from 6:45pm - 9:00pm, starting 24th January

(£160 for 10-week course)

1. Mark Making – Using pencil/mixed media to create a wide variety of marks

2. Observation – how we observe the world

3. Synchronising the hand with the eye

4. Tone and shading

5. Composition and scale

6. Marks into meaning, loosening up

7. Inspiration from other artists work

8. Introduction to portrait drawing

9. Tactile drawing

10. Still life drawing

Drawing Pencils - Grades of B's and H's

Masking Tape

A3 Sketch Pad

Eraser

Assorted Charcoal

Pencil Sharpener

Tutor: Sarah Jane Richards

Sarah Jane is an experienced tutor and artist, who has taught drawing to children and adults for many years.

There are a maximum of 15 places available on each session, so early booking is essential.To avoid a booking fee and pay by card, cheque or cash, please contact dot-art Services directly on 0345 017 6660.

Regular cleaning and santizing measures will be in place.

Cancellations / Refunds:

Once you have made your course booking you are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run.

Cancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.

If you wish to cancel your place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or colleague who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.

dot-art was founded in Liverpool in 2006 and specialises in affordable, high quality, locally sourced art. We work with over 100 artists to provide an unrivalled choice of original art and limited edition prints for home or business, as well as offering a range of complementary services including; commissions, art rental, art consultancy, exhibition planning and implementation, bespoke framing, art valuation and restoration and artist sourcing.
