Join us for a virtual celebration of fashion resilience during tough times at the 'Dressing through Pandemics' launch.

<p>Five years on from the declaration of COVID-19 as a global pandemic, this timely collection examines how clothing and dress became central technologies of care, identity, politics and resilience during a period of global disruption. Bringing together twelve research articles, a visual essay and an interview, the issue explores pandemic dressing across diverse cultural, geographic, and disciplinary contexts.</p><p>Contributors investigate the transformation of the face mask from medical PPE into a powerful sociopolitical and aesthetic symbol; the emotional and psychological dimensions of dressing under crisis; the rise of DIY and craft practices; shifts in digital retail and sustainability discourses; and the enduring material memories of pandemic life. Collectively, the issue demonstrates that dress was not peripheral, but a vital medium through which individuals and communities navigated uncertainty, expressed belonging and imagined futures</p>
