A fun and flexible class to get you started on dressmaking.

This one-day class will give you the perfect introduction to dressmaking. If you are trying to get started with a project, but need a bit of a boost to get going then this class is just what you need to build your confidence.We will teach you everything you need to know to get started including:<ul><li>how to correctly understand a pattern booklet</li><li>accurately measure yourself</li><li>choose a size</li><li>trace your pattern</li><li>grade/adjust for height where necessary </li></ul>Then we will teach you some of the basic sewing techniques you will need to use when making your own clothing including:<ul><li>sewing accurate seam allowances</li><li>how to finish your seams</li><li>layer, clip and press seams</li><li>insert a zipper/sew a buttonhole</li></ul> Feel free to join us for one session, or come back for further sessions, it’s entirely up to you. If you would like some help picking a suitable pattern and fabric, then our staff in the Ipswich store will be more than happy to help guide you. A simple pattern is best for this class if you want to get it finished within the day.
