Drum Circle
PAS are excited to announce the date of our next Drum Circle.
What is a Drum Circle?
A drum circle is an informal gathering of people who meet in public for the purpose of playing drums and percussion. The participants make up the music as they go along, using their listening and playing skills to make musical connections and express themselves in ways that feel right. No experience is necessary to be part of a drum circle.
Why attend a Drum Circle?
It’s fun! Rhythmic activities such as drumming have been scientifically proven to positively affect our brains. Drumming can calm and help us regulate, lift our moods, and relax us. Rhythmic drumming has been proven to improve our moods and reduce stress by increasing our endorphin levels.
Participants of drum circles repeatedly report experiencing a sense of belonging and community, reducing feelings of isolation, often felt by minority groups. Drum circles encourage participants to communicate with others in the circle through rhythm.
