DRUMSPYDER ECSTATIC DANCE

W/ PRIMAL RISING SOUND JOURNEY

Saturday 23rd May

18:00 - 22:00

Greyfriars Charteris Hall, Edinburgh

Ecstatic Dance in Edinburgh

Ecstatic Dance is a global movement and community ritual — a safe, sacred space to connect with yourself, others, and the world through free expression and movement.

No booze, no shoes, no chit-chat — just intentional dance powered by incredible music. Together, we reclaim rave culture as ceremony, honoring authenticity, respect, and connection. Whether you seek healing, inspiration, or simply freedom on the dance floor, Ecstatic Dance invites you to ground, open, and awaken to your aliveness.

Drumspyder

Ecstatic Dance DJ

For over a decade, Scott Sterling has been weaving rhythm, melody, and line as Drumspyder, exploring the Celtic and British Islands folk ways in vital contemporary expressions. He brings a deep love of rhythm to his distinctive style of percussion-driven dance music.

An expert percussionist specializing in tamborines and framedrums, he weaves together intricate hand percussion and bass-heavy production into finely sculpted grooves, equally inspirational to the dancefloor and the on-stage performer. Drawing influences from the traditional Folk, Medieval, and Renaissance music of the British Islands, his music is a unique alchemy of musical traditions, energetic tribal rhythms, and archaic pagan atmosphere.

Drumspyder is a central figure in the global conscious music scene ~ sharing stages at Earth Beat Festival in New Zealand, Magikana Festival in Wales, the historic McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland alongside Ott and Desert Dwellers, the Fillmore in San Francisco with Dirtwire, and recurring sets at the Nectar Lounge in Seattle with Random Rab and Yaima. Based on the US West Coast, his reach has grown steadily across the globe. We are elated to be included in his European tour this spring and to experience his magic Ecstatic Dance here in Edinburgh for the first time.

Primal Rising

Ceremony, Embodiment & Sound Journey

Pollyana Caldas Xavier Leaver is a space holder, sound healer, and guide of embodied ritual. Born in the south of Brazil, she grew up in deep connection with nature — barefoot, moving with the rhythms of the earth — a connection that continues to shape her work today.

A 300-hour trained yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, shamanic practitioner, and circle holder, Pollyana’s path deepened through her initiation into shamanic work in 2020. She is the founder of The Hearth Studio in the Scottish Borders, a sanctuary devoted to the healing arts, community, and reconnection.
