Join us on a self guided day to experience the wonder of Durham Castle. Everyone will need to book a timed ticket for one of the available weekdays we are open.Tickets are timed entry between 11am and 2:15pm, with Durham Castle closing at 3pm. Admission price is £4.50 for anyone 12 years+ and free for 11 years and under. The free tickets are subject to availability. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We will have helpful Guides and Volunteers on hand to offer you any guidance or tell you a little more about the history or the current use of the Castle. A great visit for all the family to enjoy.Due to the nature of the building there are a number of stone or wooden steps to access to reach some of the areas within the Castle.Durham Castle also have guided tours available on the 18th, 21st and 22nd July.

Any updates are regularly reviewed and any changes will be communicated on our webpages.</li><li>Please arrive on time for your visit - unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate arrivals outside of the chosen entry time. The time you have booked is your allocated arrival time</li><li>Any free tickets for Durham University campus card holders can be collected on the day of the tour from Palace Green Library - subject to availability</li><li>Accessibility within the Castle is limited due to access to areas via steps only. Parking for pushchairs is available. Any visitors with accessibility needs please contact 0191 334 2932 to discuss.</li><li>Guide and assistance dogs are welcome, family pets are not permitted to be part of the tours. A water bowl can be provided on request.</li></ul>
