Each One – Reach One “Building Connections to make Inclusion an Everyday Reality”

About this Event

Leeds City Council Invites you to join our Digital Partnership Event to mark National Inclusion Week 2020.

Following the recent challenges our workforces have faced (with the impact of COVID19), and events (both international and more locally) which have brought into focus ongoing inequalities and day to day experiences of discrimination, putting inclusion at the heart of all we do, matters now more than ever. Although we may be at different stages on this journey, this event is an opportunity to share how we can foster more diverse and inclusive workplace cultures.

The event will focus on key areas such as:

• Creating inclusive workplaces - challenges and opportunities

• Overcoming barriers in creating inclusive workplaces

• Sharing good practice – what has worked well.

• Importance of allies

• What more can be done to create truly inclusive workplaces

• The New Normal – inclusive workplaces in a post COVID-19 world

A keynote speech will be delivered by Kim Chaplain, associate Director for Work at Centre for Ageing Better and there will be three discussion groups facilitated in partnership with our staff networks. Please indicate your choice of discussion session by also registering on the links below:

1. Career progression and development - addressing barriers and supporting personal development. (Lead by Bela Gore - Business Disability Forum) Career progression and development

2. Digital inclusion: increasing opportunities for digitally inclusive workplaces (Lead by Dr. Nasser Siabi, OBE – CEO Microlinks) Digital Inclusion
