International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first​ ​IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this the​ Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom's Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women's equality.

Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

We are holding our event on Thursday 5th March 2020 as this year International Womens Day is on a Sunday.

In 2019,the theme was Better the balance, better the world. Celebrating women's achievements while calling for gender balance.

In 2020

An equal world is an enabled world.

Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.

We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements.

Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.

Let's all be #EachforEqual.

Our guest speaker is Lillian Ogbogoh who is an International Speaker, Corporate Trainer and Podcast host.

She has spoken internationally at women’s conferences on the area of self-mastery, confidence-building and women stepping into leadership and owning their feminine leadership identities. Working
with women to create the lives they desire and impact the world in a meaningful way for them.

She is also a podcast host and producer who has interviewed founders, Owners and coaches across the world on using their skills to change the world for the better for over six years. Her first podcast started in 2009, titled Waking Passions which ran for three and a half years, at the end of the show she had interviewed a guest from every inhabited continent. Her current show Shine Out Loud Show began in 2017, with a focus on interviewing creatives, owners and CEO from the BAME community to shine the light on their work and the impact they are making in the Uk and across the globe.
