About this event

A monthly showcase for sonically adventurous experimentation in West London in association with OPEN Ealing. Tickets £10*.

*We have a number of free guest passes for those unable to pay the price of admission. Please contact the organisers directly through this page, one per applicant.

There is no bar, so please bring your own refreshments.

More aural adventures on Sat 28th May, and a warm welcome to a couple of my fellow curators and two acts visiting the UK from overseas.

This edition features sets from:

The Oneirologist

The electroacoustic and audiovisual project of Rick Jensen. Going since 2013 and playing live many times. Rick is also a member of many other projects using electronics but mostly playing saxophone (Apocalypse Jazz Unit, SKRONK, MGF, Nuha Ruby Ra, The Insect Explosion, Animals from Hell and more...)

Sinister Masterplan

Sam Enthoven used to be a children’s author; now he’s a musician, sound artist and event creator exploring (under the name SINISTER MASTERPLAN) the places where sound and story meet. His primary instrument is the theremin. He generally provides live sound accompaniment for storytellers and actors or (as part of duo NOISY SILENT FILM CLUB) soundtracks for film screenings. He’s thrilled at this rare chance for a solo set and looks forward to sharing the fruits of his most recent mad shed science!

SJF Trio

A free improvisation trio with members from Canada, Italy and Germany combining radically different approaches to music, from more traditional jazz to contemporary classical by way of electroacoustics and noise. Group is composed of Edith Steyer on reeds and preparations, Dominic Jasmin on electronics and voice and Pietro Frigato on guitar.

Elif Yalvaç

Elif’s compositions embrace opposites: microsound glitches and slow builds; celestial beauty and abrasive energy. Her songs are created using a vast array of instruments, including guitar, synthesizers, and Game Boy, as well as her own software sound design tools and field recordings. Inspired by computer game audio, Elif extensively studied chip music as part of her master’s thesis, entitled “Creating Music ‘Inside The Box’: Do Chiptune’s Limitations Have Aesthetic and Creative Value?”.

Endorsed by Arts Council England, Elif is currently based in the UK with a Global Talent Visa.
