Event description

Description

At the early detection programme multidisciplinary networking events we pair a clinician with a STEM scientist or industrial speaker to talk about their work and where it may be relevant to early detection of cancer. The STEM scientists and industrial representatives may speak about the devices and interventions they are developing and the clinicians speak about potential bottlenecks in their work which might be addressed by greater collaboration with physical scientists.

At this February event, the talks will be given by Mr Grant Stewart, Academic urological surgeon with clinical and research expertise in kidney cancer on Kidney cancer, a silent killer, in need of an early detection strategy and Professor Russell Cowburn, Department of Physics will speak on Magnetic nanostructures for novel cancer therapy and detection

Each talk lasts for 15-20 minutes, followed by audience questions and the opportunity to network further with colleagues over drinks.
