Celebrate connection, creativity, and a little clay-covered laughter this Easter at Liberation Art Gallery’s Pottery for Two, a playful, hands-on workshop where couples sculpt a ceramic face inspired by each other.
In this light-hearted guided session, you and your partner will each create a sculpted ceramic face of one another using hand-building techniques. From capturing their smile or signature expression to exaggerating their quirks for comic effect, this workshop is all about observation, creativity, and enjoying the process together.
Expect texture, character, and plenty of laughter along the way.
No previous pottery experience is needed. This workshop is beginner-friendly, relaxed, and focused on shared experience rather than perfection.

- One sculpted ceramic face of your partner (per person)
- A unique decorative wall piece or sculptural keepsake

- Step-by-step guidance from our in-house ceramics artist
- All clay, tools, and materials
- A supportive and playful small-group setting
Please note: This workshop focuses on the making experience. Firing and glazing are not included.

All materials are provided, just bring yourself and an old t-shirt to dive into this hands-on experience! No prior experience required. At Liberation Art Gallery CIC, we aim to create an inclusive and relaxing environment for all our workshop participants. Feel free to bring your own refreshments and we are BYOB friendly to enjoy during your session, making your experience even more comfortable and sociable. Our gallery also provides toilet and handwashing facilities, ensuring convenience and ease throughout your visit. With all workshop materials and tools provided, this setup allows you to fully enjoy your creative experience without worrying about additional costs, so you can focus entirely on making art and having fun.
You can book in for a paint and glaze session (and 2nd firing) with us to bring your creation to life. We also offer a series of taster sessions, exploring handbuilding, wheel throwing and glazing for beginners to hone their skills. Liberation Art Gallery CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to making creativity accessible for everyone. Nestled in the heart of Brighton, our gallery and creative workshop and art therapy space reinvests all profits directly back into our community programmes, ensuring quality exhibition space for artists and individuals, families, and young people, especially those facing barriers to education, mental health support, or inclusion can access high-quality creative and therapeutic experiences. By joining our workshops and events, you’re not only nurturing your own creativity, but actively helping us deliver free and low-cost art therapy, outreach projects, and wellbeing initiatives to those who need it most.
Cancellation Policy:
We understand.that plans can change, and we do our best to be fair whilst protecting the sustainability of our workshops.
- Cancellations or date changes must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled.workshops
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop or non attendance on the day are non-refundable
- As a good-will gesture, we are happy to to offer a transfer to a future workshop of equal value subject to availability when at least 48 hours notice is given
- Workshop credits must be used within 3 months of the original workshop date and cannot be exchanged for cash
- We are unable to offer refunds or workshop transfers for same-day cancellations. As materials, artist fees and staffing are already commited.
- In rare and exceptional circumstances please contact us directly. Any discretion offered is at Liberation Art gallery's discretion.
