Ebb & Flow is for all gender-nonconforming identities and for those questioning or exploring their gender, beyond the binary. Trying to explain my gender with a label often feels like trying to capture the essence of a river in a photograph. There is an internal Ebb & Flow that I am continually becoming more in touch with.

But getting in touch with the true Internal Knowing of my gender is asking me to call much into question. It is asking me to remember and befriend parts of me that have been exiled. To unlearn binary gendered societal stories about my body and myself. To connect and listen to my body so that I can scribe their origin story.

This work has been life-changing in many ways, but I've largely been navigating it on my own. Combine that with an absence of gender nonconforming elders in my life and the erasure of our history, and I'm left with many questions.

Will I always feel invisible? What about my body? How do I hold the tension between wanting to love and be present in my body and wanting my body to align more with how I feel inside? Can I learn a new way of relating to my body? Where are my elders? What about ceremony, rituals and rites of passage?

What if we got together and got curious about new rituals and rites of passage to honour and witness our continuing journey with our gender? What if we navigated all of this together, in community? Enter Ebb & Flow. A community space co-created by combining my lived experience, therapeutic skills, and deep knowledge of literature and research on GNC identities and history, with all of your lived experience, knowledge, openness, and curiosity.

Join me as we prioritise exploration over explanation through themes like story, body, and ceremony.
