ECHO GUIDED LIFE SUPPORT

'Critical Care Events in Scotland' is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to bring world-class critical care education to Scotland. These shared social and educational events will improve critical care provision by advancing knowledge and building relationships between the critical care specialties of EM, ICU, Retrieval Services, Anaesthetics and Acute Medicine.

Wondering what to do when your patient is trying to die in the resus room?
The EGLS algorithm addresses shock and the peri-arrest patient in an efficient and standardised manner.
Using intermediate level ECHO, Thoracic and IVC ultrasound, this course will help you categorise shock and make truly, life-changing management decisions.
We are thrilled to announce that Jean-Francois Lanctot and Max Valois, the founders of the course, are coming to Glasgow to deliver the teaching alongside a very experienced faculty. There will be 2 one-day courses that are designed to give participants the maximum hands-on practice with 2 participants to a machine and a generous instructor to participant ratio.

8:15-8:20 a.m.       Introduction (theory)
8:20-9:00 a.m.       Lung ultrasound (theory)
9:00-10:15 a.m.     Lung (practical)
10:15-11:00 a.m.   Subcostal/IVC &amp; the State of the circulation (theory)
11:00-12:00 p.m.   Subcostal and inferior vena cava view (practical)
12:00-12:45 p.m.   Lunch
12:45-13:30 p.m.   Complementary cardiac views (theory)
13:30-15:00 p.m.   Complementary cardiac views (practical)
15:00-16:00 p.m.   Algorithmic approach to shock (EGLS)
16:00-17:45 p.m.   EGLS (practical)
17:45-18:00 p.m.   Conclusion (theory)
 
Please note that the cost of the ticket includes lunch on the day plus a textbook courtesy of EGLS.
