ecoACTIVE: Powerful Plastics 

Bow Arts is an arts education charity that provides affordable creative workspaces for over 500 emerging artists. Alongside this, Bow Arts manages one of the country's most exciting education programmes, which takes world-class artists into 90 schools to improve the lives and learning of children and young people. Bow Arts runs the Nunnery Gallery, a public gallery that supports a diverse range of high-quality exhibitions and events as well as the delivery of a public arts programme. Established in 1995, Bow Arts holds an important place in east London which is fast becoming known as London’s Artist Quarter.

Join us for an interactive and hands-on workshop that aims to increase our awareness of plastics. Adults and children alike are invited to learn about the lifecycle of plastic products and the environmental difficulties with their disposal.
Activities will include:
<UL>
<LI>Powerful Plastics – an introduction to why plastic is useful, but also why it causes us problems!</LI>
<LI>Plastic Lifecycle Challenge – work in teams to map out the journey our plastic products take, and where they end up when we don't need them.</LI>
<LI>Waste Prevention - learn about the hierarchy of waste while playing the waste prevention game in pairs.</LI>
<LI>Plastic Upcycling – get creative and come up with a new and useful product using unwanted plastic waste.</LI>
</UL>
Please note this workshop will take place in the Bow Arts Courtyard, next to the Nunnery Gallery.
Please bring some clean milk bottles, plastic bottles and yogurt pots with you to the workshop.
