We long to work with and through the local church to see good outcomes for children and families for Scotland. As a charity, we seek to encourage everyone to play their part in the story of children and families. For some, that may look like exploring the journey to foster care, adopting or supported lodgings. For others, being equipped and resourced to gather around birth families, empowering them through mentoring, encouraging and befriending. We exist to equip the church, asking how we can support your church family to reach more marginalised communities, gathering around the widow, the orphan and the outcast.Psalm 68 - 'A father to the fatherless, defender of widows is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families'We are running vision events across Scotland as we establish this vision, for the autumn term we will be running one in Glasgow and one in Edinburgh, with dates to come for Dundee and Aberdeenshire! The evening will be a time of inspiring and informing, hearing from social workers, church leaders and people with lived experience. We will be looking to the call, the need and the response, with opportunities to connect.THE CALL - Exploring scripture and looking to God's heart for children and young people in and on the edge of care.THE NEED - Hearing from local authority and social work on the specific needs within Edinuburgh and the Lothians for children and families.THE RESPONSE - How can you play your part? How can the local church be part of the vision to see no family left alone, and every child with a home where they can flourish
Anyone is welcome, if you are wanting to understand more, support your friends, explore what this means for your home or church!
