Question 1

Who is the Delegate Programme for?

Accepted Answer

The Edinburgh Science Festival Delegate Programme is open to everyone interested in finding out more about our work in public engagement, science communication and event organisation. We welcome early career professionals, students and delegates from international organisations.

Question 2

I'm 16, can I come?

Accepted Answer

Because of the venues we use, the Delegate Programme is over 18s only. However, if you are aged between 16-18 and would like to take part, please get in touch and we'll set you up with a bespoke schedule.

Question 3

Can you book my accommodation or travel for me?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, we're unable to book travel and accommodation for delegates. However, if you'd like recommendations of places to stay, our team are all Edinburgh based and will be happy to give suggestions for all budgets.

Question 4

I'm interesting in fundraising/accessibility/production - is the Delegate Programme for me?

Accepted Answer

We focus on public engagement during the programme, but have some flexibility built in to enable you to meet different members of the team. When you book in, you'll be asked to let us know what you're interested in, so we can help you make the most of your time with us

Question 5

Where can I get more information about accessibility, and ensure my needs are met?

Accepted Answer

Most events will be taking place in the National Museum of Scotland, which has access information on its website: https://tinyurl.com/tre2wt9d. We will send out information (and check your requirements), with a general overview available here: https://www.sciencefestival.co.uk/accessibility

Question 6

I can only come for one day, can I get a one day pass?

Accepted Answer

We're currently only offering the three day experience for delegates, but please do let us know if you're interested in only coming to specific events: we'll try our best to help.
