Edinburgh Studio Opera performs 'Eugene Onegin' by Tchaikovsky

Edinburgh Studio Opera (ESO) was founded in 1968 as 'Edinburgh University Opera Club.' The first performance was the UK premier of Monterverdi's operaL'Orfeo. ESO is a student run society aiming to involve as many students in the organisation, running and performance of each annual show. Our members have an invaluable opportunity to work with professional and experienced directors providing a unique introduction to semi-professional operas.

Edinburgh Studio Opera is proud to present Eugene Onegin, an opera with such fierce, intense and unrequited love shot through with regret, jealousy and tragedy. We traverse many years, watching Onegin and Tatyana relive their first meetings and missed chances for love, in one of the most heart-rending and beautiful operas ever written.
