This CPD short course aims to support understanding and application of theory , research and excellent early years practice relating to enabling children to develop EF skills (such as Attention, Self Regulation, metacognition, working memory, task switching, emotional intelligence (EI) etc).
It will look how to enhance learning & EF skills, alongside understanding unique development & how these skills are not innate, but taught & developped in secure, caring and excellent EY environments, which seek to gently challenge, nurture and empower unique children as they grow and learn. It will also address concepts of inclusivity, adversity & SEN (where ASD & ADHD children struggle with these skills often due to dysregulation) and allowing children to thrive and learn, through better understanding of EF skills.
The course will include key research into easy to understanding practices, upcycling of EY environments and educator pedagogy in how to empower and enable EF skills for learning and life.
