Who are the workshop sessions for?

Sessions are aimed at local VCSE (Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise) groups and organisations - including  community groups, community interest companies, charities, and local authorities - and University of Southampton staff - including researchers, PhD students, academics and non-academics.

Are the workshop sessions free?

Accepted Answer

All sessions are FREE to attend. If you represent/are part of a small VCSE organisation, and a small stipend towards e.g. travel and time spent at the sessions would enable you to attend, please let us know when registering for the sessions.

Question 3

What will the workshop sessions be like?

Accepted Answer

All the sessions are discussion based i.e. there will be a little bit of people standing at the front talking, but the majority of the time will be facilitated small group activities and opportunities to talk. There will be multiple workshop leaders/facilitators/speakers who will help out.

Question 4

How much do I need to know about partnership working to come along?

Accepted Answer

The sessions invite shared learning from the group, so we are hoping for participants with a mix of experience to come along  -  we take a strength-based approach, acknowledging that everyone has something valuable to bring, whether new to partnerships, very experienced, or somewhere inbetween.

What are the aims of the workshop sessions?

Accepted Answer

1) To share best practice on partnership working, and acknowledge the skills required to work effectively in partnership. 2) To offer opportunities to meet potential collaborators & partners and explore potential projects together, with support towards funding opportunities. 3) To explore EPP tools.

Question 6

Will there be food?

A mix of nut-free sweet & savoury snacks and hot & cold drinks will be provided. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dietary requirements will be accommodated. Please share your dietary requirements through the booking form, particularly if you have further requirements to those already accommodated.

OK! We are proud to be working with local VCSE organisations who not only provide us with delicious snacks but are doing incredible work in the city. Drinks are provided by our lovely catering team. Please bring tupperware/containers/flasks etc. to take away any leftovers!

Question 8

Do I have to go to all three workshops?

Accepted Answer

The workshops are designed to follow on from each other so, where possible, we encourage you, or someone from your community group/organisation/team/research group/similar, to attend all three. If there is a waiting list we will prioritise those groups/organisations who can attend all three.

Do I have to be a friend/member of the Public & Community Engagement (PCE) Hubs to attend?

These workshops are one of the many benefits of being part of the PCE Hubs - if you're not already a friend/member, we would love you to join! It's free and will give you access to more events and opportunities like this happening throughout the year around the city!
