He currently works in private practice and was a volunteer therapist in Greater Manchester for several years. What is this webinar about?L ife is full of problems to be solved. But sometimes these can feel overwhelming and we don't know where to begin to tackle the challenges we face. For some people facing anxiety, depression, anger, relationships difficulties or just life changes, the difficulty if being able to tackle life's problems makes distress even worse and can maintain the psychological condition.Many of the problems we face in everyday life are ill-defined. That is the the issues are not wholly clear, our options are underspecified and success is not black and white. In this context of uncertainty, many people fall back on quick fixes (involving unhelpful thinking styles) which while providing an immediate response often do more harm than good.Fortunately, there are tried and tested methods for tackling challenges calmly, rationally and with success. Not only do these techniques help deal with problems, they give a new sense of mastery and agency to the individual, boosting confidence and self-esteem.Join us for a practical workshop where we look at real-world problem solving techniques that can be used with clients immediately. You will received step-by-step guidance and the worksheets you need to help clients .The workshop will bring in the latest useful research and models in the area and look at the application of problem solving techniques with conditions such as anxiety, depression, anger and procrastination. It will also examine the distinctive features of social problem solving in romantic relationships and the workplace.We will also be examining how as therapists we can apply these problem solving techniques to our own professional and personal lives.
