Alicia Drummond - Managing Children's Anxiety
Session 1 - 7 to 8pm
How To Manage Worry, Stress & Anxiety
Alicia Drummond is a BACP accredited therapist, parent coach, speaker, author, mother and the founder of Teen Tips and The Wellbeing Hub for Schools. For the past 12 years Alicia has been working in over 180 UK and international schools as well as businesses, and the NHS. She is the inhouse mental health expert for School Notices; she is the in-house parenting specialist for CQC clinic Esher Groves; she is a popular speaker at conferences, regularly appears in the press and is the author of “Why Every Teenager Needs a Parrot”.
This talk will give parents the strategies to help children and young people manage the worries and stresses of life and avoid the anxiety trap. By understanding techniques from CBT and research from neuroscience parents will gain the tools to build their child’s self-awareness and self-management skills, and boost emotional resilience.
Karl Hopwood - Online Safety and supporting our children.
Session 2 - 8pm to 9pm
Karl Hopwood is an online safety expert with over 15 years experience working with schools, agencies, teachers, pupils, parents and technology organisations.
The session will consider what children and young people are doing when they are online and will draw on the latest research so that parents are up to date. There will be a focus on the main challenges that children and young people are facing and how parents and carers can support them with a mix of technical and practical solutions.

This event will be hosted in the theatre at ACS International Schools Cobham.
You will be required to bring photographic identification for entry to the ACS Campus.
