Embodied Research Symposium
How are we moving through the world?
Come and join Brigstow and collaborators for a day long gathering designed to bring together a peer community of researchers, artists, and practitioners to explore and share experiences around practice that centres the body as a tool for deep and multi-faceted understanding and expression.
Through performance, workshop and discussion we will be feeling into what we mean by embodiment in research. We will consider how different approaches and experiences contribute to layered and vital ways of understanding the body as conveying and creating meaning beyond words.
From investigating how we are moving through the world – what we are conscious and unconscious of in the storytelling/perception/bias of our bodies - to considering how technologies can augment embodiment; this will be a playful and thought provoking day of interaction, reflection and discussion.
This is a relaxed event and we invite you to come as you are and join in as much as you can. The day will take place across two spaces offering opportunity for larger group engagement and smaller break out moments.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
Our understanding is that the venue is wheelchair accessible. Further details on access are available at https://www.themountwithout.co.uk/faqs. When you book there is an opportunity to provide detail on any other access requirements and we will do our best to accommodate.
