Embroidery Basics - Taster Workshop

Embroidery Basics - Taster Workshop

Overview

An easy, welcoming introduction to hand embroidery - slow down, stitch, and discover the joy of embroidery.

In this relaxed and beginner-friendly workshop, guests will be introduced to the fundamentals of hand embroidery using an embroidery hoop. Designed for complete beginners (or anyone wanting a refresher), this session moves at a gentle pace, with clear, step-by-step guidance throughout.

Participants will learn a selection of simple yet versatile stitches, gaining confidence as they explore how each stitch can be used creatively in their own future projects. Stitches covered include:

  • Running stitch
  • Back stitch
  • Split stitch
  • Chain stitch
  • French knots
  • Blanket stitch
  • Feather stitch
  • Satin stitch

This workshop is about slowing down, enjoying the process, and building practical skills in a supportive environment. By the end of the session, guests will leave with a solid foundation in embroidery, as well as their embroidery hoop and needle to continue stitching at home.

What you'll get:

Step by step guidance through the stitches.

Take home an embroidery hoop and needle.

No prior experience is needed - just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.
