Support emotional wellbeing with voice at Tammy’s fun, mindful singing taster session!

Emotions | Mindful Singing Taster with Tammy Payne

Join us for a relaxed, in-person session exploring mindful singing with Tammy Payne. This taster is all about tuning into your emotions through gentle vocal exercises and deep listening. No experience needed—just bring your voice and open heart. Let's connect, breathe, and sing with intention together!

Your wellbeing is our priority

  • Friendly and welcoming one hour wellbeing tasters sessions
  • Learn expert information on self-care, wellbeing and vitality.
  • A moment to pause, relax and chat with others.

The sessions are hosted by Will Shipp, Social Prescribing Lead who will sometimes introduce special guest experts for some focused wellbeing learning and activities.

About the session:

This week we welcome Tammy Payne as our guest. Tammy is a singer and writer who wants to help people to use their voice to support their emotional wellbeing.

We will relax with simple movement and breath work. We will sing long notes, leaving increasingly more space in between the notes to notice silence and breath. In this way we gently increase our capacity to sit and be mindful. We will hum, noticing vibrations in the body. Five minutes of humming ( just one note ) activates the vagus nerve to calm the nervous system. There will be a simple song about nature to learn.

What to expect

Help yourself to a herbal tea or water as we gather and Will introduces this weeks topic or expert.

We will usually do a round of names and a few deep breaths together to settle down.

Each session will be unique with either Will or the expert guest guiding people through discussions, learning and practical exercises to improve wellbeing

We will then give you the chance to ask questions, chat (if you'd like) and write down your goals and how you can take the information into your life.

Any questions?

Please contact your Social Prescribing Link Worker or leave a message for them at your GP Surgery. You can also email your Social Prescribing team at bnssg.socialprescribing-healthwest@nhs.net adn they will get back to you.
