Woodlands Community is a Development Trust, a charitable organisation that aims to improve the Woodlands area of Glasgow and the lives of local people. We achieve this through community-led activity and partnership with both local and national organisations.Our aim is to be a force for positive, community-led change in Woodlands.We want to achieve lasting benefits for the area and the people who live, work or study here:- Helping local residents and businesses to improve the Woodlands area- Promoting the health and wellbeing of local people- Promoting learning and education within the community- Encouraging artistic and cultural activity in Woodlands- Protecting and developing Woodlands’ natural and built environment

During the pandemic there has been a build-up of unexpressed feelings in many of us. This is an opportunity to tap into the healing power of a group, and be fully heard and held in our difficult emotions particularly related to the state of the world - the war in Ukraine, climate change etc. With the help of brief mindfulness and compassion meditations we build a reservoir of positivity that allows us to hold each other &amp; feelings without overwhelm. We will also draw on NVC (Nonviolent Communication) and the ‘Work that Reconnects’ to develop our empathy skills.Ratnadevi is a highly experienced mindfulness teacher, trainer, NVC practitioner of many years and facilitator of the Work that Reconnects.Spaces are limited. Priority will be given to folk living in the local area of Woodlands and surrounding areas of Woodlands, Cowcaddens, Woodside, Firhill, Queens Cross, Wester Common, Hamiltonhill and Possilpark. Please be mindful of this when signing yourself up.
