Description

Open & Agile Smart Cities, Smart Flanders, and EIT Digital invite you to a full day event in the framework of the annual Smart City Expo World Congress. In three dedicated sessions we will

  • dive in to best practices and lessons learnt from successful regional smart city initiatives,

  • share experiences regarding the opening up of data from a city perspective in a hands-on workshop, and

  • explain how the OASC Minimal Interoperability Mechansms (MIMs) support cities in procuring data-driven services based on standards

This event is open to all cities participating in the Smart Flanders programme and to members of Open & Agile Smart Cities. Participation is free of charge, but registration is compulsory. A ticket for SCEWC is not needed to enter his one-day event.

09:45 - 11:30: Morning session - A Common Approach to Digital Transition

During this session, you will get an overview of several regional smart city initiatives, supporting cities on their path to implementing smarter solutions. The presentations will focus on some best practices, but also highlight challenges these initiatives faced and how they dealt with them.

12:00 - 13:30: Workshop - Opening Up Data - Best Practices and Lessons Learnt

In this interactive workshop organised by Smart Flanders, city representatives from all over Europe will discuss their insights on some smart city best practices. During the workshop we will start from the commonalities and differences between regional smart initiatives and work on a worst practice and the key insights these experiences have led to.

13:30 - 14:30 Lunch Break (Lunch will not be provided)

14:30 - 17:00: Afternoon session - Hands-on with OASC for Global Innovation and Procurement for Digital Services

Learn how the OASC principles enable organisations and companies to build a global ecosystem of key enabling smart city technologies that respond to city needs of innovating quickly, cheaply, and without vendor lock-in.
