Endangered Musical Instruments Symposium
Event Information
About this Event
The Heritage Crafts Association is the national charity set up to support and safeguard traditional craft skills in the UK. On Saturday 29 May it is holding an online symposium to present its initial findings on the state of British musical instrument making, seek feedback from makers and other interested individuals, and talk about what can be done to ensure a healthy future for these skills. The day will feature talks, discussion and a musical performance.
Findings will feed into a future edition of the HCA Red List of Endangered Crafts and inform its advocacy work with UK government agencies and funding bodies.
The event is free to attend on the Zoom video conferencing platform, and attendees must register via Eventbrite.
