ENDORPHIN MACHINE! (community choir / mass singalong)

ABOUT

More of a mass singalong than a traditional community choir, ENDORPHIN MACHINE! (named after the Prince track 'Endorphinmachine') means no learning curve, no multi-part harmonies to figure out, no homework. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never sung before, or if you do it every day - all that’s required is a desire to sing.

We strive for a welcoming, friendly, inclusive environment, and look forward to meeting you at our next event!

TECHNICAL SETUP

Held at Druitt Hall in Christchurch, we will have:

• A sound system set up to play the music LOUD (hopefully drowning out any nerves there may be from new singers!).

• Ambient lighting (no harsh overhead strip lighting - can also help with nerves!).

• Projector screen displaying lyrics (so no need to search anything on your phone).

COLLABORATIVE SONG CHOICES

On checkout for your tickets, you will be asked for a song suggestion for the event.

If you are getting multiple tickets, and would like to include a song suggestion for each of your guests - please message us after ordering when you’ve had a chance to check with them.

All song suggestions will be put into a poll 5 days before the event (new orders after this point will not be able to suggest).

You will have 48 hours to vote, and the playlist (roughly 1 hour’s worth of music) will then be shared with you 3 days before the event.

REFRESHMENTS

Free hot drinks and biscuits will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring whatever else you’d like (booze is allowed).

And if there’s any songs you don’t feel like singing, please feel free to step back and freshen up your drink or grab some snacks!

TRAVEL

Driving: On the loop around Druitt Hall (High St, Wickfield Av etc) most parking spaces and single-yellow lines are unrestricted after 6pm. Alternatively, Wick Lane car park is a flat £2.50 after 6:30pm.

FUTURE PLANS

The initial event at least will be free entry, future events are planned to be around £3 per person.

This is to cover hire costs of the hall, and anything taken beyond that will be split as follows each time:

• 50% donated to charity (selection process tbc)
• 50% as a prize to randomly chosen attendee

We also plan to have group discounts, and loyalty discounts (details tbc).

And depending on demand, we may do more specialised singalong events based on specific artists/genres/eras etc.
