Event description

Description

The Engaging with Voices event is inspired by the video resources we made available earlier in the year (can be found on this YouTube link).

We hope that the day will help people network as well as be a space to get inspired and pick up new ideas.

The day will consist of 30 min talks as well as space to reflect and discuss in smaller groups and in the big group.

We are still working on the content but below is a tentative program (subject to change)

• Working creatively with people who hear voices

• Engaging with Voices using Music

• Compassion for Voices

• Personal experiences of engaging with voices

• Power of filmmaking

• The importance of support and peer supervision

The event is not for profit and we will not be able to provide lunch for participants.

______________

Traditionally voice hearing has been shunned as either a bad or mad experience. Both in hearing voices groups and in therapeutic approaches there is growing interest in finding ways to constructively engage with the voices as well as set clear boundaries.

This is a chance to hear about different ways to compassionately engage with people who hear voices and their voices.

The event will be a mix of talks and spaces to share ideas.

With Charlie Heriot Maitland, Elisabeth Svanholmer, Rufus May, John Richardson, Richard O'Hagan, Kate Quinn as well as interviews with Matt Ball (Australia), Stephanie Mitchell (Australia) and Patrick LeCardinal (France).
