The Roslin Institute

<a href="https://www.midlothiansciencezone.com/" title="https://www.midlothiansciencezone.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Midlothian Science Zone</a> (MSZ) Business Forum is hosted several times a year to encourage engagement and collaboration between organisations 'in the zone'. We aim to bring together a wide range of businesses to identify shared support needs, collaborative opportunities and share knowledge across the region; signposting to research, expertise and business services. Guest speakers are invited to present on themes of interest and benefit to our community.Our next Business Forum will take place on Tuesday 14th April in the Roslin Institute boardroom. The event will be led by Professor Mark Stevens (Interim Director of the Roslin Institute) and Dr Finn Grey (Senior Research Fellow), who will showcase the newly established <a href="https://edin.ac/roslin-engineering-biology" title="https://edin.ac/roslin-engineering-biology" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Engineering Biology Hub </a>for Future Farmed Animals (EB Hub) at the Roslin Institute.The EB Hub builds on decades of world-leading research into the genetic basis of complex traits in livestock species. By integrating this expertise with cutting-edge engineering biology approaches, the Hub accelerates innovation across its core research themes: Target Discovery and Validation, Tractable In Vitro Models, Reproductive Technologies and Genome Engineering, to deliver practical advances in livestock farming.The EB Hub brings together technical expertise, state-of-the-art infrastructure and specialist training, to foster commercialisation opportunities, and translate research into real-world impact.The session will highlight ongoing research projects, research capability and partnership opportunities within the EB Hub.On arrival, please sign in at reception and you will be directed to the boardroom. Light refreshments will be provided so please advise any dietary requirements to Emma McCallum, Project Co-ordinator at emma@midlothiansciencezone.com.On-site parking is available on Easter Bush Campus.
