Principal aims and ambitions<ul><li>· Provide practical and engaging CLPL, in a fun, collaborative environment, developing knowledge and skills in STEM.</li></ul><ul><li>Build practitioner confidence in running practical tasks with a ‘science’ or ‘engineering’ focus.</li></ul><ul><li>Make Maths meaningful using ‘hands on’ tasks with links to everyday life</li></ul><ul><li>Identify transferable skills and learner pathways within STEM</li><li>Unlock the potential of practitioners to lead inspiring ‘Engineering Challenge’ activities within their schools and wider community.</li></ul>Content and organisation Four sessions held at Victoria primary school on a Friday afternoon, 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Classes will be recorded and available to access at other times.<ul><li> Each session organised into the following topics</li></ul><ul><li> Week 1: Basic woodwork skills/ Designing and Model Making Skills</li></ul><ul><li> Week 2: Electricity/ Renewable Energy</li></ul><ul><li>Week 3: Friction and forces / Earth Science</li></ul><ul><li>Week 4: Light &amp; Colour / Recipe for Science</li></ul>· Topics will be explored through practical ‘design and make’ activities· Differentiated content to meet First and Second Level learning outcomes· Suitable for all primary practitioners including teachers, PSAs and other classroom assistants
