With over 25 years in education, Susie is an experienced teacher, leader and English consultant, working with schools and organisations both nationally and internationally to improve pupil outcomes. Drawing on her comprehensive understanding of curriculum, assessment, and effective teaching methodologies, she guides school leaders, teachers support staff and governors in developing their strategy and practice to improve all aspects of English across the primary age range.Susie specialises in designing and delivering tailored training programmes and projects to address educational priorities, working with individual schools, academies, trusts and partnerships, as well as collaborating with educational organisations. Her commitment to fostering innovative teaching and learning is evident through her emphasis on evidence-based practices and creative pedagogical approaches, both in face-to-face and online settings. Whether in training programmes and projects, or in her bespoke support to schools, Susie leverages her experience and expertise to develop leadership and classroom-based strategies aligned with individual needs.Finding innovative ways to inspire teachers and engage learners is Susie's passion and this underpins all her work. Her face-to-face and online training is of high quality: rooted in the curriculum, providing evidence-based practice coupled with creative teaching and learning approaches. She is an accredited trainer for several reading intervention programmes and has worked with OUP to write and present their online professional development package for Project X CODE. Participants will:<ul><li>develop an understanding of how learners learn and the associated principles for best practice</li><li>explore research-based, effective pedagogies for impactful learning and teaching</li><li>consider how such approaches can be successfully applied to the teaching of Primary English</li><li>acquire practical classroom strategies to impact pupils’ learning in all year groups</li></ul>Target audience:English subject leaders, class teachers, teaching assistants, senior leaders.
