Environmental Policy Update for Members

ABHI is the UK’s leading industry association for health technology (HealthTech).ABHI supports the HealthTech community to save and enhance lives. Members, including both multinationals and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), supply products from syringes and wound dressings to surgical robots and digitally enhanced technologies. We represent the industry to stakeholders, such as the government, NHS and regulators. HealthTech plays a key role in supporting delivery of healthcare and is a significant contributor to the UK’s economic growth. HealthTech is the largest employer in the broader Life Sciences sector, employing 145,700 people in 4,300 companies, with a combined turnover of £30bn. Association of British HealthTech Industries

Last year, ABHI became the first Trade Association to join the Institute of Environmental Management &amp; Assessment (IEMA) Corporate Partnerships Programme. IEMA is the professional body for those working, studying or interested in the environment and sustainability, and our membership has been created in partnership to provide ABHI members with additional information on this important topic. As part of this collaboration, we are delighted to be joined by IEMA’s Director of Policy and External Affairs, <a href="https://www.iema.net/people/martin-baxter" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Martin Baxter</a>, for another update for members. Martin will be giving a presentation on the broader environmental policy and legislative landscape in the UK, beyond those specific to the HealthTech sector. The government is introducing some changes that may impact this agenda, so we are very pleased that Martin can provide this helpful update.
