Equality United - Interactive Training in Challenging Oppression

Equality United is about replacing the current method of tackling discrimination with one that acknowledges important differences between groups but at the same time, emphasises the similarities in how oppression works against all oppressed/minority groups resulting in similar effects.  By identifying the common ways the system works against all groups we can come together to empower ourselves and challenge the underlying causes – i.e. a holistic approach.

This is a NEW APPROACH to tackling inequality which imagines how successful we might be if we all worked together. We will identify and challenge the underlying causes of oppression and work towards effective change and true equality for all.

Tackle the way institutions oppress and ignore the needs of some groups whilst privileging others.
Understand that many of us belong to several oppressed groups (intersectionality) as well as some privileged ones.
Unpick and discard the harmful messages we have internalised and release our true potential
 
There is something of a revolution happening in this country. This movement of the people is an ideal opportunity to make Equality United a reality and challenge the inequality of the society we live in.
Come and join us. It is FREE to young people and low waged but we ask others to pay £5 towards the cost of the event. If you are unable to attend but support our cause we are gratefully receiving donations.
